Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
I would vote this movie for the Best Movie of 2006, so far! The movie’s great. I love it. Honestly, I really could not wait until the ending of the movie to sms Mei Cher and tell her that this movie is terrific! Almost excellent! There are movie scenes that are really funny... and are really able to make you laugh... not like those lame jokes or scenes that is just really… nothing but plain lame, in other movies! As I watch this movie, the director of the movie really directed this movie in a way that makes me feel very excited and there are many times that the director successfully create scenes that makes me curious and excited. I keep asking myself… “Gosh... “What’s going to happen next?” I believe that Johnny Depp does not even need to act in the 2nd movie to prove to everyone that the director of the movie did choose the perfect person to act as Jack Sparrow. Indeed, he’s a talented and experience actor that suits the character he is acting in. This movie is worth watching… even if you have to pay RM 20 for a place in the cinema to watch this movie, PAY, COZ IT’S WOTH IT! Ps: Btw, I love the ending… I do not think Jack Sparrow is dead. In my opinion, he is still alive, he’ll definitely somehow manage to survive! He’s sooo handsome: p and I am really waiting for the next episode to come on screen.

Take the Lead
My review:
The movie is a total must watch! I like the movie even though I’m not interested in musical genre movies. The story line is good, the characters dance to the beat, the dance steps were smooth and for an old man like Antonio Banderas is handsome. Antonio Banderas acted in the movie Zorro a few years back and I must confess that he’s really good at acting and experience too, after acting in about 67 movies. The dance steps and moves were cool, and I personally like the way and things he explained to the pupil’s parents about him teaching ballroom dance during detention. Dante Basco is 31 years old this year, but he’s playing the role of Ramos, one of the pupils that attend detention. I must say it would be impossible for me to know about the fact that he is that old because he makes a very good high school boy in the movie. By the way, Basco looks a bit like Brian Tee as the DK from the movie “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006).
The movie is about how this dedicated teacher decides to teach the bunch of “school rejects” in during detention class, teaches them with his heart and then pulls them to success.
This movie's storyline is similar to the movie " To Sir With Love", the only difference is that in the other movie, the teachers teach them a particular school subject, but in this movie, the detention teacher teaches the students something that's not tought in school, ballroom dancing!
One of the quote in this movie that is meaningful:
Pierre Dulaine: You can get what you want.
Rock: No, some people get what they want.
Pierre Dulaine: Those are the people who show up to get it.
Just My Luck
My Review:
If there’s just one thing that I’m allowed to say about the movie, I would say that this movie has the most cute and handsome guys in a movie. The blond guy in the band McFly is a total cutie. Lindsay Lohan looks much mush mature in the movie. In my opinion, Lohan is just the right person to act as Ashley. She just fits into the character perfectly. As a child actor Lohan is good at her acting skills. Even since she was a child she acted very well, for example in one of her earliest movie that she acted in, Disney’s The Parent Trap (1998) as Hallie Parker and Annie James at the same time.
Overall, the movie is nice. If compared to How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003) aka Wie werde ich ihn los - in 10 Tagen? (Germany), director Donald Petrie did not improve much on his movie directing skills.
This movie have nice soundtracks and the McFly band is good!

Dead Poet's Society
My Reviews:
The movie was about this teacher, acted by Robbie Williams that taught the students in his class to push their abilities to the limits and move the boundary given to then by the school and their parents. He made the boys realize that they can achieve great things in life not by only studying in class, he made them think outside the box, he made them realize that they do not need to wait until they graduate from school to achieve their goals in life. He inspires his pupils, he gives them hope, and he made a difference in his student’s life, but yet, he was blamed for an incident and tragedy event that was not his fault but indirectly was linked to him and so he was expel from teaching in the school. The tragedy was when one of his student disobeyed his father because of doing something he loves, which is acting in a play and later after that committed suicide because of the pressure his parents and school put on him. This movie shows how a group of boys’ life changes because of this one very special teacher that had taught them to “seize the day!” without recreating it. Jon says that the story line is good but I think its average at first which is right after watching the whole movie, but as I come to really think of it now and flash back what I’ve seen in the movie, I have to agree with him that the story line IS in fact a good one.
8 Below
My Reviews:
The movie is based on a true story. Overall, I will also rate the movie, slightly below average. It’s not as good as I’ve expected it to be. When I bought this DVD I though that it’s a very touching story of this guy that risks his life to save his team, which is the dogs from the heavy story... but to my disappointment, the movie I saw just now was not up to my expectations.
Superman Returns
My Review:
Superman Returns was not a really nice movie to watch. In the movie, it shows that Clark Kent / Superman did some soul searching for 5 years. After 5 years, he came back from Krypton and went back to work, only to find out that his love interest; Louis Lane is already engage to another guy. She even has a cute and handsome son, which he later found out that it’s his son because the boy has super strength too. Lex Luther on the other hand, had found out Superman’s father’s graveyard and toke the crystals that was left behind for Superman. The crystals are worth a lot because it’s the key to very advance technology. In the end superman was in a coma but woke up after spending some time in the hospital. If I would have to rate Superman Returns, it would be a slight below average. In the movie, indeed it shows how strong he is, every part of his body is made of steal. There is one scene that really captured my attention, which is the part where a guy pointed a gun at Superman’s eye and shot a bullet at it. Not only did the bullet not injure this Man of Steal, the bullet just bounce out of his eye, it was squash. In this movie, Superman did a lot of flying and did show how strong he is, but I personally would like to see more action scenes. There are scenes in the movie that is also quite fake when Louis Lane was in the plane and she knock onto so many things but wasn't even hurt. In fact, none of the passangers were hurt, even when they went to outer space, the people in the aeroplane was calm and acted as though it's just a normal rough flight. The most silly part of the movie is that Louis Lane can't even reconise Clark Kent without his specticles. The only difference between Superman and Clark Kent is the voice and the specticles. As for the comedy part of the movie, the only person that played the “comedian” was Lex Luther. The actor playing Luther is just not bad enough for the character.
The Inside Man
My Reviews
The movie was not up to my expectation nor was as good as how Jon describes and said it to be. It’s basically about a bank robbery that actually in the end, did not happen at all because the robbers did not steal anything from the bank. All the robbers did was just to make all the hostages dress like them (they came in wearing painter suit) so that it’s easy for them to run away with the crowd when all the hostages were released and also to create attention of the police. The main objective behind the mastermind of the “robbery” is to review the bank’s owner dark past. The movie is mainly about the robbers conducting the successful “robbery”. The best part of the movie was when the leader of the “robbers” told the detective that he’s just going to walk out of the bank door when he is ready which he really did without getting caught.
But, when i come to think of it now, after writing the preview above, i've come to a conclusion that the story line of this movie is actually quite good and the movie is worth watching.
